Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Nail Lacquer in 'Katrina'
A few days ago, I reviewed Joan Collins Timeless Beauty's Divine Lips Lipstick (£18) in shade 'Katrina', and now I'm reviewing the matching nail polish. Joan Collins Timeless Beauty's Nail Lacquer (£13, 12ml) in shade 'Katrina' is described as 'a sophisticated warm neutral brown crème' designed to 'suit all skin tones'. I myself would describe 'Katrina' as a medium brown with a tiny hint of rosy caramel. Joan Collins Timeless Beauty's Nail Lacquer gives the most opaque finish in a nail polish than that I've ever experienced before- if you like a hint of translucency, this isn't the nail polish for you, but if like most you frequently find yourself applying coat after coat in an attempt to get a fully opaque finish, this is a fantastically satisfying nail polish. It has a very glossy finish that requires no top coat on top, or base coat below, and has a thick consistency which contributes to the opacity and non-streaky finish. The brush is relatively wide which allows the nail polish to be applied in one stroke per nail. The formula is great too- I've found that the nail polish has a superb longevity and doesn't chip, lasting for at least six to seven days at full strength. More than the actual nail polish itself, I love the appearance of the bottle. I haven't seen a nail polish as visually appealing as this one, and it looks great left out on the dressing table, whilst injecting a bit of eighties glamour in one's room. It's hard to believe that a nail polish as complete as this one costs almost only a pound per ml. For maximum impact, wear it with the matching 'Katrina' lipstick for an effortless pulled-together look. The duo can be bought over at QVC.
