Rootstein To Unveil Mannequins Inspired By Fashion Designer Phillipe Blond

At an event during New York Fashion Week next month, iconic mannequin company Rootstein will unveil a special new collection of mannequins inspired byPhillipe Blond, one half of the design duo behind The Blonds.
On Sept. 9, Rootstein will unveil a collection of male and female mannequins based on the visage of Blond, marking the first time both gender mannequins have been sculpted from a single individual.

"In partnering with The Blonds, Rootstein continues its legacy of embracing individuality that captures, reflects and communicates the brilliant transience of fashion at its most beautiful and thrilling. The figures wield a power of their own," a Rootstein representative said in a press release.
Sept. 9's event will also feature a retrospective of The Blonds' most iconic ensembles. Previously, Rootstein has sculpted mannequins based on Twiggy,Agyness Deyn, Pat Cleveland, Marie Helvin, Sayoko, Dianne Brill, Yasmin LeBon, Karen Mulder, Jodie Kidd, Joan Collins, Susanne Bartsch, Erin O¹Connor and Jade Parfitt among others.
"The whole process is surreal and magical, like a dream. It is such an honor to join the ranks of so many inspiring icons that have been sculpted for mannequins by Rootstein. Their heritage is groundbreaking and their craftsmanship is incomparable and I can't wait to see what window dressers around the world will dress my mannequin in," Blond said.
The Blonds' celebrity following includes some of today's top performers, including Katy Perry, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears.
