Joan attended the 26th Annual John Wayne Cancer Institute Odyssey Ball at the Beverly Hilton, which was honouring her longtime friend Alana Stewart, who is president of The Farrah Fawcett Foundation.. Alana received the True Grit Award, an award first launched in 2006 and given to Nancy Reagan... Also honoured was Ruth Weil who as well as a philanthropist and longtime supporter of the Institute. As well as the awards, the gala held a reception, dinner and silent and live auctions.. Among the stars attending were legendary Raquel Welch, the fabulous Jaclyn Smith, the sensational Nicolette Sheridan and many others.. Joan enjoyed the evening in the company of Raquel and Nicolette as well as celebrating with her friend Alana, also of course ex Mrs George Hamilton!

    this is the dress from the "catfight & caviar" special and I do not like it, sorry. Ms Welch looks very oomph as usual...I wonder if she can still breathe properly in that very tight dress ;-)

    Olivier.. yes! it is.. it was a copy of a dress Bette wore in Now Voyager.. Nolan Miller made it.. Joan also wore it the night I saw her in Birminghm for her 'An Evening With' show.. thanks as always for your comments.. mark.x
