| JANES IN LATER YEARS.. |
Saddened to hear a true Hollywood Legend past away yesterday, Jane Russell. Jane who first hit the silver screen in 1943 with the classic western "The Outlaw" directed by Howard Hughes and Howard Hawks who also directed Joan's first American film "Land Of The Pharaoh's". Jane also appeared in the Hollywood classic 1953 film, "Gentleman Prefer Blondes" .. Her last screen appearance was in a 1970 production of "Darker Than Amber", although she did appear in the 80's night-time drama "The Yellow Rose" in 1983... Jane who lived in Santa Maria, California was an accomplished singer, with a few hit records and in her latter years performed her own show locally to keep herself active... A true trailblazer.. She was certainly one of the greats.. We will miss you Jane!
