OUT TO LUNCH!

Joan pops up in many places and here she is at Sardi's, the legendary New York Theatre restaurant, which is famous for it's caricature's of celebrities on it's wall. Joan is seen here with a menu, sitting under her caricature, which is in the style of Amanda, whom she played on Broadway in "Private Lives" in 1992.  Sardi's opened at it's current location on West 44th Street in 1927. It was also home to the first Tony Awards announcements, as producer Brock Pemberton who whilst eating lunch there one day came up with the idea of giving a theater award in honor of his late partner Antoinette Perry, actress and co founder of the American Theater Wing. Thus the Tony Awards was born! Well worth a visit to see the walls..Oh! the food is good too!!
