GROUNDED!!

I am more than disapointed to announce that my much eagerly awaited trip to London tomorrow to see Joan is most definately up in the air! Well to be more accurate stuck on the ground! The dreaded Icelandic Volcano has grounded all flights from Dublin to England till Monday afternoon at the earliest. I shall have to run my own screening of "Rally Round" and prop an old standee on the chaise lounge, to simulate Joan's event at the BFI. If anyone reading this is lucky enough to attend , could you send me some photos? You can email me at mcmorrowm@iol.ie . Even though I was spewing much worse than Volcanic Ash earlier, I have now resigned myself to a weekend devoid of glamour, well I could invite a neighbour in who does a turn as Tallulah Bankhead, in a mink with a Cartier cigarette holder. House them on the sofa and supply him with gin as he (yes! he!), recites lines from "Die Die My Darling!"  Hopefully I will manage to see Joan at some stage this year. I would have loved to have shared some photo's of the event, but apparently it was not fated this weekend. I send my best wishes to Joan & Percy and hope the evening goes well as I am sure it will. As you can see Joan is on the ground in these photo's, discussing the canceled flight with a PANAM hostess and on the red carpet off the final Concorde flight..

  3. i went to the Joan Collins film and chat at the BFI last night and may i say Joan was fantastic! She listed film directors and fellow actors from the 50's to the present day, reminisced about her early days as a starlet and even taking 'diet' pills when signed to Rank. What a lady, she looked amazing in a black ruched number. She even watched the film before which she had never seen in it's entirity! Didn't get any pictures though but i will be writing it up.
