PRESS ALERT : NEW YORK POST .. PAGE SIX .. JULIEN'S AUCTIONS .. SEPT 21ST 2015 ..

A treasure trove of clothes, jewelry and art belonging toJoan Collins will go under the
hammer, a Beverly Hills auction house announced on Monday — 72 hours after the “Dynasty” star’s famous sister died.
The announcement by Julien Auctions follows Saturday’s passing of world-famous novelist Jackie Collins, who succumbed to breast cancer on Saturday at age 77.
A rep for Julien’s said the auction house considered postponing Monday’s formal announcement. But they concluded that word of the sale was already out and auctioneers didn’t want to disturb a grieving Joan Collins to see if it should be postponed.
“Julien’s Auctions did have an internal discussion about this but at that point the announcement was already in play having been confirmed a week earlier for news,” Julien’s spokeswoman Caroline Galloway said in a statement. “As you may well imagine Joan is in mourning over her dear sister and we chose not to intrude on her privacy. “
The auction is set for Dec. 16.
“Desperately sad today but I know Jackie would want me to be strong but it’s hard to lose somebody so wonderful, so incredible & loving,” Joan tweeted on Monday. “Wherever you are, my darling sister, you deserve a red carpet and a throne.”
