Joan appeared with Robert Wagner on an edition of "The Ed Sullivan Show" in October of 1957 to promote their film "Stopover Tokyo".. A film which they both re-named 'Stop Overacting!'.. "The Ed Sullivan Show" first hit screens on CBS television in 1948, when it was called "Toast of the Town", although many just called it "The Ed Sullivan Show". After 1955 it was officially re-named "The Ed Sullivan Show" and continued to air until 1971. Joan was set to appear in 1958 along with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward and Director Leo Mac Carey to promote "Rally Round The Flag Boys!".. Although the Newman;s appeared , it is not clear if Joan and Leo made an appearance.. Other guests on the 1957 show were, Sarah Vaughn... Roger Williams.... Billy Eckstine....
The show is a classic of American television and was responsible in bringing some of the biggest names in entertainment to television....
