TV UPDATE : GERMANY'S NEXT TOP MODEL ... MAY 16TH 2024 ..

"GNTM": Ex-"Denver Beast" Joan Collins eliminates "young Brad Pitt"

Hot dance challenge for Heidi's "GNTM" models. Ex-"Denver Beast" Joan Collins rated the paint and glitter show as the icing on the cake. For two models, the encounter with the Hollywood diva meant the end of their winning dreams. Dame Joan wanted a striptease from another candidate.

She can still do it: Between 1981 and 1991, Joan starred in 195 episodes of "Denver Clan" . Episode 14 of the current "Germany's next Topmodel" season (Thursdays, 8:15 p.m., not only gave all "Denver Clan" fans sweet memories of "Alexis". The Hollywood diva also did what she does best as a juror. She poured Heidi's models pure wine about their performance on the catwalk - or was it champagne after all? She wanted a male model to continue a striptease. Another candidate, in whom she recognized the "young Brad Pitt", had to go home. A female model also had to go.
Then the real star of the evening drove up in style in a Rolls Royce: ex-"Denver Beast" Joan Collins. They awaited the appearance of the models next to the catwalk in great anticipation:
"Self-confidence is the most important thing for all artists, models and actors," said the Hollywood star. And some male models did not disappoint her.
Frieder in particular won Collins' full attention. The 24-year-old hinted at a short strip with his vinyl jacket on the catwalk.
Collins' clear verdict: "Your striptease was good. We want you to take off the rest as well."
In Aldin she even recognized the "young Brad Pitt". Aldin's performance, however, did not tear the jury - once again - from its seats. The 23-year-old was still one of the favorites to win in the first episodes. Since then, others have outstripped him, according to Heidi. For the only candidate who already had well-known catwalk experience before the show, all dreams of victory were over.
Collins, on the other hand, attested to the best dancers Jermaine and Luka "star quality": "I hope to see you on Broadway one day," said the star.

On the dancefloor, too, the female models delivered the much stronger performances this time. And again Lea was in the lead.
Joan Collins and her fellow judges praised above all her "star quality" and the "beautiful hands" that Lea showed while dancing:
"You could be the star of a Broadway show," Joan Collins paid her a huge compliment. Grace (25) also praised her as the "young JLo". The challenge was disappointing for Sara, who is a dance enthusiast. She seemed "too serious and strict" to the jurors on the runway and thus spread little fun while watching. For her, too, the dream of winning "GNTM" in episode 14 came to an end as a sixth-placed woman.

The Jewish charity that rescues children from neglect and abuse in Odesa, Ukraine, this week celebrated another year of extraordinary achievement as it deals with two wars threatening its work in two years.

Tikva, founded by the city’s chief rabbi, Shlomo Baksht, relocated the 4,500 people in its care in Odesa to Romania following Russia’s invasion in Ukraine in February 2022.

Tikva provides education, opportunities, love and life-long care for 250 orphaned youngsters as well as helping 660 displaced community members. It is also caring for Israelis affected by the 7 October attacks by Hamas terrorists.

At its annual fundraising dinner on Monday one of those youngsters, 23-year-old Yuliia Roiter, spoke of the ‘Tikva family’ that saved her.

Addressing the 270 guests, who included Sarah, Duchess of York, and Dame Joan Collins, Yuliia’s voice broke as she related how she was taken to a state orphanage as a baby after being rejected by her mother, who had turned to prostitution.

A few years later she was rescued from the orphanage by Tikva. “I arrived as a toddler and grew up in a warm and loving home,” she said with gratitude. “I love my teachers and they love me.” Roiter is at the moment finishing her studies to qualify as a teacher herself.

The Duchess of York spoke about her visit to Tikva in Bucharest a few weeks ago. She first visited in 2013.

Tears for those receiving support were followed immediately by peals of laughter as Israeli-American standup Modi leapt on to the stage to perform for the guests. The Tikva UK dinner, at the Nobu Hotel London Portman, raised £1.4m for the charity’s work.
