Ryan Murphy says American Horror Story season 8 is 'unlike anything we've done'
Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are currently launching their latest FX series, Pose, but the pair are about to begin production on the eighth season of American Horror Story. The latest edition of the anthology series begins shooting this month and, as usual, details are scarce.
Murphy previously announced that the new installment will
be set 18 months from now and much of the cast will be full of
AHS alums including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Billie Lourd as well as newcomers like Joan Collins, who will apparently be playing Peters’ grandmother. The previous edition of
AHSwas the very timely
Cult, which featured Peters playing various cult leaders in history.
But there’s apparently going to be even more stars than before. “You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat,” teases Murphy. “It’s a very high concept.”
While rumors have swirled that this season is called AHS: Radioactive, Murphy would only admit this one has a massive twist. Says Murphy, who co-created AHSwith Brad Falchuk, “It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five.”
