Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Paparazzi Compact Duo

Today I thought I would share with you a lovely product from the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty range which will be a sure-fire hit for all those Christmas parties that are approaching!

The Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Paparazzi Compact Duo (RRP £34)* contains two beauty must-haves tucked inside a gorgeous compact that can handily be popped into your handbag or clutch bag. Featuring a lightweight pressed powder, a velvety smooth, highly pigmented lipstick and a mirrored lid the compact is handy for touching up your makeup on the go.
The lipstick is that classic of fire engine reds, a shade which seems to be universally flattering, and the packaging is heavy and very robust. The texture of the lipstick is creamy and moisturising, helping to fill out those fine lines, and it has a good pigment.
The pressed powder is soft, lightweight and helps to disguise imperfections and reduce unwanted shine. It has moisturising properties with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E so doesn’t cling to and highlight any dry patches of skin or settle into fine lines. A handy powder puff means you can apply this wherever and whenever.

This is such an elegant compact and very well made, definitely something you don’t mind getting out of your handbag for touch ups! The design is classy and the feel of it, from the weight and the metal casing, to the detailing and the smooth way it closes securely, really makes you think it is worth the price tag.
Although I this brand is targeted towards more mature ladies – 40 year plus – there’s no reason it can’t be enjoyed by anyone younger, especially if you’re going to a particularly smart, black-jacket evening do and want your makeup to look as sophisticated as your dress!
You will find the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty range at QVC, Marks & Spencer, and online at Joan Collins Beauty.

PROMO UPDATE : ART & HUE .. HOLD THE PHONE.. IT'S JOAN!

Hold the phone, it's Joan Collins pop art by Art & Hue.

ArtAndHue.com35 years ago, Joan Collins walked onto television screens in "Dynasty" and proceeded to own the 1980s.

To mark the occasion, Art & Hue presents four new stylish pop art prints of the film and TV icon in 22 colour options and three sizes, available individually and as a group.

From forks to cigarettes, Joan used props to punctuate a scene and had an expert knack of accessorising with a telephone, in "Dynasty" as well as "Alfie Darling", the largely-forgotten 1975 sequel to the classic Michael Caine 1966 film "Alfie".

An official collaboration with Studiocanal, Art & Hue has delved into the archives at Pinewood to uncover images from "Alfie Darling" and create this pop art collection of the prototype-Alexis Morell, all printed on archival matte card of 310gsm, made from 100% cotton, using fine art pigment inks to ensure longevity.

Two of the new pop art prints feature the actress brandishing a handset like only she can.

The epitome of glamour, whether she’s working a receiver, having Cinzano spilt on her by Rigsby, or being followed through an airport by paparazzi and 14 pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage, Joan has defined her own unique and timeless style that continues to inspire.

PRESS UPDATE : THE SPECTATOR LIFE .. NOVEMBER 4TH 2016....

How to survive the party season

It’s going to be murder out there, from now till New Year. Spectactor Life writer Dame Joan Collins explain how to get through it!

 cards

There are various simple ways to survive the six-week explosion of embossed white-card invitations, exclusive ‘e-vites’ and the occasional last-minute phone call that many of us receive between November and the New Year. My best advice is to bin the invitations that celebrate the opening of a restaurant, shop or gallery. In my experience these will be choc-a-bloc with people I don’t know among a sprinkling of paparazzos. Conserve your energies for those intimate gatherings where you are sure to see plenty of friends and no cameras. Once you’ve decided which venue you will honour with your presence, here are some survival tips: eat something before you leave — some soup, a hard-
boiled egg, hummus on crackers; alcohol on an empty stomach is the quickest route to a hangover. If it’s a drinks party, don’t stay too long as you’re bound to get plastered. If it’s a dinner party, arrive 45 minutes after the indicated time so that you don’t drink too much before dinner; that long cocktail hour, which too often becomes an hour and a half, can be fatal. And finally, be picky. Don’t be the person who goes to the opening of an envelope. The two golden rules of showbiz — always play hard to get and leave them wanting more — apply to everything in life!

PRESS UPDATE : DNA .. KABIR BEDI .. JOAN COLLINS KEEN TO GO BOLLYWOOD!

Joan Collins is keen to do a Bollywood film: Kabir Bedi

alt Chaya Unnikrishnan | Sun, 23 Oct 2016-06:00am , Mumbai , DNA
Says Bedi, “I met Joan, my Dynasty co-star after 15 years. She looks absolutely beautiful. It’s amazing how well she has kept herself. When we were chatting, she told me she is very keen to do a Bollywood film. She is familiar with Bolly films and since she is a very good dancer, she wants to do a film where she can dance.”
Says Kabir Bedi, who caught up with his Dynasty co-star after 15 years at the Art for Charity event in London
Kabir Bedi was recently at the Arts for India charity event in London, a fundraiser held in association with the British Film Institute at BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts). Bedi gave a speech to honour the contribution of the late filmmaker Richard Attenborough. BFI also conferred Lifetime Achievement Awards to Dame Joan Collins and yesteryear Indian actress Mumtaz.

As for Mumtaz, Bedi says he has always “adored the actress and found her films with Rajesh Khanna entertaining”. He meets her every three years when she comes to India from. “I have a lot of love and respect for her,” he says.
The event, says Bedi, was held to honour great talents, celebrate India and it was also for a good cause. “An auction was held and all the money raised from it will go to underprivileged young Indians who are training in the creative arts — films and fashion.”
The actor was recently seen in the film Mohenjo Daro in a pivotal role. The film did not do well at the box office, but Bedi maintains that its recent telecast on a channel received a good response. “A lot of people liked it,” he says and the actor has also tweeted about it. As for his next project, it’s an English film Broken Key, directed by an Italian filmmaker, which has him playing a professor of antiquities. “I am also shooting for a Telugu period film Baahubali-style in which I am playing an emperor,” says Bedi..

To kick things off Joan Collins Beauty have released two fabulous new products for Autumn/Winter. The first new product is the ‘I Am Woman Dry Oil Body Polish’ – which comes in a substantial glass pot with pretty black lettering, it certainly looks extravagant on the bathroom shelf. Inside the pretty pot there is a mixture of rich minerals and fruit seeds. Together these gently exfoliate the skin. There is also a mixture of five plant oils, which leave the skin looking smooth, whilst feeling hydrated. This body polish is particularly good if you’re wearing a dress, as it leaves your legs looking beautiful!

The Joan Collins Beauty team emphasise that it’s important to still use an SPF, even though the sun is disappearing. A good SPF followed by a fantastic base and amazing makeup will help you from looking tired. They also recommend blending your makeup with good quality brushes, which helps the makeup last but also helps it stay ‘photo-ready’.
If you’re going straight from the desk to a party, Joan Collins recommends refreshing your makeup with a bold lipstick. The ‘Divine Lipstick  in Alexis’ is a beautiful Autumn shade and it will carry you all the way through to Christmas. Joan recommends blotting your lips after application to ensure the lipstick outlasts your cocktails. If you’re stuck for space in your clutch bag, Joan’s team recommend using your lipstick as a blusher and blending it onto the apples of your cheeks.
