As "A Midwinter's Tale" gets a release on dvd from Warner Archive, here is a photo of Joan with director Kenneth Brannagh at the premiere of Kenneth's 1994 film "Frankenstein" .. No doubt his meeting with Joan inspired him to cast her in his seasonal 1995 film..

Warner Archive has just released Joan's 1995 seasonal comedy drama "A Midwinter's Tale" aka "In The Bleak Midwinter" which was directed by Kenneth Brannagh and stars Joan as Margaretta D'arcy and agent to an actor Michael Maloney who decides to stage a production of Hamlet over Christmas.. This Christmas Joan will spend her time in Birmingham and she will spend Christmas Day with Tara who lives not too far from Birmingham, but Christmas for Joan has not always been in the family fold. This rare photo by Eddie Sanderson features Joan up to her neck (almost) in the murky waters of the Florida swamps filming a scene for the cult camp epic "Empire Of The Ants". The film was shot near Christmas in 1976 and I am sure it's an occasion Joan will never forget!

As it's fast approaching the holiday season, here is Joan as Joanne in the classic shocker "Tales from the Crypt".. Joan appears in the segment "And All Through The House", which is set on Christmas Eve and features Joan murdering her husband, but ends up murdered herself by a maniac dressed as Santa Claus!
