Joan has lent her support to Save The Children's  - " Press For Change Campaign" among other celebrity names.. ' Some of the worlds most influential and inspirational women have come together to sign a statement supporting "Save The Children's ..Press For Change Campaign".. To stop millions of children dying needlessly  every year.. This September world leaders will be coming together in New York to renew their pledge to reduce child deaths by two thirds in 2015. This series of eight, 30 minute plays are all based on the works of Noel Coward.. The series featured a regular cast including Sian Phillips .. Miriam Margolyes .. Anthony Newley .. John Alderton .. Jane Asher .. Joan Sims .. John Standing .. and others.. will be featuring each episode in future posts when I resume a look at Joan's tv career from 1981  onwards...

As a tribute to that great character actor Kevin McCarthy who has just died, here he is with Joan in a rare photo from the 1983 tv movie "The Making Of A Male Model".. which also starred the late Jon Erik Hexum.. Kevin appeared in the cult classic movies "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" ... "Piranha" "The Howling" and one of my favourite 80's series "Flamingo Road"..playing the father of the fabulous Morgan Fairchild. He also appeared on "Dynasty" & "The Colby's" McCarthy a veteran of over 200 film and tv appearances will almost certainly be missed ...

This rare photo see's Joan pondering over the script for a proposed costume drama "Lord Vanity", which would have seen her co-star with her friend Robert Wagner in 1954.. Apart from a screen test.. costumes fitting and pre-production the film was never made..
