SIR PETER BLAKE "Our fans" (2017) 100 separate faces cut out as fragments from an original collage that was printed on a vinyl fabric mural sized 61.66m x 27.77m in colour. Each face/fragment is approximately 1.2m x 2m (4' x 6.5'). Please be advised that the final shape and size may vary. Each figure was cut-out from the poster based on the cutting guide designed by the artist. "Our fans" is Peter Blake’s largest-ever artwork and was commissioned by LONDON Advertising to cover the façade of Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park, in Knightsbridge, London during its recent renovations. The mural coincided with the 50th anniversary of the launch of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band album, whose iconic front cover was designed by the artist in 1967. To create "Our fans", 100 renowned ‘Fans’ of the hotel provided a photograph of themselves to be included in the vinyl fabric collage – no-one invited refused, including the two surviving Beatles, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. The proceeds from the auction will be donated equally between WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and The Felix Project which is feeding London’s most vulnerable during the crisis...
