On April 16th 2001, Joan & Percy attended the GLAAD Awards at The New York Hilton & Towers. This event presented by ABSOLUT VODKA is for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Awards that evening were given to Vanessa Redgrave and presented to her by her daughter Natasha Richardson, who sadly since died. Liz Smith was given The Vito Russo Award. As well as a dinner and an awards show, there was also a silent auction, cocktails and a VIP after party featuring Pete 'n' Keely. This was Joan and Percy's first public event together.
