PRESS UPDATE : DNA .. KABIR BEDI .. JOAN COLLINS KEEN TO GO BOLLYWOOD!
Says Bedi, “I met Joan, my Dynasty co-star after 15 years. She looks
absolutely beautiful. It’s amazing how well she has kept herself. When
we were chatting, she told me she is very keen to do a Bollywood film.
She is familiar with Bolly films and since she is a very good dancer,
she wants to do a film where she can dance.”
Says Kabir Bedi, who caught up with his Dynasty co-star after 15 years at the Art for Charity event in LondonKabir Bedi was recently at the Arts for India charity event in London, a fundraiser held in association with the British Film Institute at BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts). Bedi gave a speech to honour the contribution of the late filmmaker Richard Attenborough. BFI also conferred Lifetime Achievement Awards to Dame Joan Collins and yesteryear Indian actress Mumtaz.
As for Mumtaz, Bedi says he has always “adored the actress and found her films with Rajesh Khanna entertaining”. He meets her every three years when she comes to India from. “I have a lot of love and respect for her,” he says.
The event, says Bedi, was held to honour great talents, celebrate India and it was also for a good cause. “An auction was held and all the money raised from it will go to underprivileged young Indians who are training in the creative arts — films and fashion.”
The actor was recently seen in the film Mohenjo Daro in a pivotal role. The film did not do well at the box office, but Bedi maintains that its recent telecast on a channel received a good response. “A lot of people liked it,” he says and the actor has also tweeted about it. As for his next project, it’s an English film Broken Key, directed by an Italian filmmaker, which has him playing a professor of antiquities. “I am also shooting for a Telugu period film Baahubali-style in which I am playing an emperor,” says Bedi..

PRESS UPDAT : REALLY REE,COM .. FESTIVE TIPS FROM TIMELESS JOAN!
Festive Beauty Tips From Joan Collins Timeless Beauty
Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Collection had a lot of coverage when it first launched and rightly so, it’s beautiful. The collection has gone from strength to strength this year, with lots of new releases becoming available. Now, Joan Collins and her fabulous beauty team are thinking Christmas, with lots of pretty products and top tips, to ensure you look your best. If you’re looking for some top tips for looking great for the upcoming festive parties, you’re in the right place!
To kick things off Joan Collins Beauty have released two fabulous new products for Autumn/Winter. The first new product is the ‘I Am Woman Dry Oil Body Polish’ – which comes in a substantial glass pot with pretty black lettering, it certainly looks extravagant on the bathroom shelf. Inside the pretty pot there is a mixture of rich minerals and fruit seeds. Together these gently exfoliate the skin. There is also a mixture of five plant oils, which leave the skin looking smooth, whilst feeling hydrated. This body polish is particularly good if you’re wearing a dress, as it leaves your legs looking beautiful!
The Joan Collins Beauty team emphasise that it’s important to still use an SPF, even though the sun is disappearing. A good SPF followed by a fantastic base and amazing makeup will help you from looking tired. They also recommend blending your makeup with good quality brushes, which helps the makeup last but also helps it stay ‘photo-ready’.
If you’re going straight from the desk to a party, Joan Collins recommends refreshing your makeup with a bold lipstick. The ‘Divine Lipstick in Alexis’ is a beautiful Autumn shade and it will carry you all the way through to Christmas. Joan recommends blotting your lips after application to ensure the lipstick outlasts your cocktails. If you’re stuck for space in your clutch bag, Joan’s team recommend using your lipstick as a blusher and blending it onto the apples of your cheeks.
The second new product is the ‘TEN EFFECTS Skin Treat & Makeup Fixer’ which you use when you’ve applied all your makeup – it’s the perfect way to finish your makeup routine! It’s made with seven different active ingredients, which aim to plump, rejuvenate, tone, hydrate and minimise pores. It’s a delicate mist which suits even the most sensitive skin and it has a delicate rose scent.

These polishes are available in 17 different shades, designed to be quick drying and fuss-free. The long handle is very easy to hold and it gives you a lot of control on the nail. PRESS UPDATE : THE TELEGRAPH LIFESTYLE .. OCTOBER 13TH 2016 ..
Jewels, turbans: inside the charity shop where you can try Joan Collins's wardrobe on for size.
Back in 1986 when I was a gawky teenager, my favoured look – and that of my friends – was a drab combination of baggy jeans, cardigans that came down to the knees and clumpy Doc Marten boots.
A 'going-out’ outfit would be pretty much the same, with the addition of frosted pink lipstick and heavily back combed hair. Not that there were many places to go out, when you boarded at an all-girls school in Dorset - it was hardly worth putting your lippy on for a trip to the Spar.
But on Friday nights, a shot of glamour beamed its way into our boarding house. Fifty of us crowded round the one, tiny television, sitting cross legged on the floor, for our weekly visit from another world of big money, big hair and big shoulders: Dynasty.

The scheming and seductions, the
betrayals and tragedies, the glorious Colorado backdrops and the
mega-mansions that gleamed with marble and gold: all these we thirstily
lapped up.
But the star of the show, the real reason why we all staked our claim to the pole position in front of the telly, was of course Alexis Carrington, the gloriously bitchy femme fatale, played by Britain’s most glamorous export, Joan Collins.
Her sequinned gowns, shoulder pads the size of breeze blocks, OTT jewellery, killer heels, crimson lips and nails were the perfect antidote to our boring wardrobes and humdrum lives. Forget the gritty grey realism of Eastenders, it was escapism we wanted and Joan - alluring, dazzling, jewel-laden Joan - provided it in (ice) buckets.

It was a sad day when Alexis left our screens in 1989; Friday nights were never the same, but Joan herself glittered on.

It was a sad day when Alexis left our screens in 1989; Friday nights were never the same, but Joan herself glittered on.
Now in her eighties, undimmed by the decades, she still wears
miniskirts and plunging necklines, her hair is permanently coiffed in
the luxuriant waves she adopted post-Dynasty, and her lips remain resolutely red.
She has written books giving style advice and last year brought out her own clothing label, Jackie Palmer. Dress for your body, not your age, is her mantra.
But as every woman knows, now and then a wardrobe audit is required, and where better to send your cast-offs than a charity shop?
Dame Joan is a patron of Shooting Star Chase, a Surrey children’s hospice charity that cares for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. She often visits the two hospices and it was in recognition of this support that she was made a dame in 2014.

So it was natural that their Guildford shop should be the lucky recipient of her latest clearout: more than 150 items, from Manolo Blahnik shoes to a John Galliano ensemble and colourful vintage kaftans and turbans galore.
“She’s been incredibly generous,” says Ruth Shaw, the charity’s retail manager. “She’s got a heart of gold.”
I couldn't resist visiting the shop this week to view the Joan Collins collection for myself - and to slip into Alexis’s shoes for a moment or two. The entire shop window is devoted to Joan’s donations and there is a buzz of excitement as customers peruse the silky camisoles, kaftans, jewellery and jackets filling the rails.
Business has been brisk, Denise Stenning, the shop manager, tells me. They have been fielding enquiries from fans as far-flung as Miami and shipped £400 worth of clothes to Germany, while one diehard Dynasty fan travelled the 100 miles from Dorset to splurge £700 on items once worn by their icon.
Some shoppers maintain the items are presents for their mothers; one man came in and bought jewellery for his wife to wear to Joan’s one-woman show, which has just finished its run across the country.
“It’s not often you get a chance to buy something that a real, genuine Hollywood superstar has worn,” points out Denise. “And there is a huge range , from designer clothes to more down-to-earth items.”

PRESS UPDATE : THE MIRROR .. OCTOBER 10TH 2016
Joan Collins fans flock to charity shop to grab glamorous star's designer clothes!

By
Nicola Bartlett
Legendary actress is patron of Shining Star Chase children's hospice and gave 150 items to the charity's Guildford shop in Surrey..
Charity shops might not be known for their glamour but all that changes when a certain Dame Joan Collins gives a donation.
The Dynasty actress, who is patron of the Shining Star Chase children's hospice, gave 150 items including designer clothes, shoes and jewellery to the charity's Guildford shop in Surrey.
The rack of exciting fashion finds has attracted a host of visitors including one fan who travelled all the way from Dorset and spent £700 while a customer from Germany spent £400 over the phone.
The charity hopes in total they will raise £10,000 to help terminally ill children and their families.
Volunteer Valerie Talbot, from Guildford said: "There's lots of things you might wear on the beach in St Tropez but maybe not on the high street in Guildford. Actually a lot of those clothes are very Joan Collins."
The shop is running a silent auction for some of the most iconic items which include a Chanel handbag, a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes, a Tiffany necklace and an Alexander McQueen bracelet which closes tomorrow.
Also on offer is a signed copy of her book, a signed pair of LK Bennett shoes and a pair of earrings worn by Joan when she played Alexis Colby in Dynasty.
But there are also bargains to be had among the array of glamorous kaftan-style tops, wide-brimmed sun hats and chunky necklaces with prices starting at just £5.
Assistant Manager of the shop Sue Hamblett said: "There were about 150 items in total, it was two huge suitcases full.
"It's been great some people have come all the way from the coast, a few people have come because their mums love Joan Collins and they want to buy them something.
"I've been tempted by some of the jewellery, I put a bid in for the Chanel bag but I'm pretty sure I haven't got it."
Mirror reporter Nicola Bartlett exhibits some of Joan's items
Maggie Walsh, who was browsing the rail of glamorous clothes had already bought one of the items.
She said: "I own Joan Collins's coat. I bought it about ten days ago - it's a winter coat, it's black wool. I came in looking for a coat and there it was."
Zosia Zacharia, from Epsom, shopping with her one year old daughter Annabelle was tempted into the shops by a pair of Sam Edelman leopard print shoes with a gold block heel.
She said: "I don't even live nearby, I live in Epsom but I always find goodies in here.
"I think having those leopard print shoes in the window was a great idea."
Shooting Star Chase is a children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
Joan Collins's donation coincided with her visit to G Live in Guildford where she performed her new show Joan Collins Unscripted and made time to visit the charity's Christopher's hospice who were celebrating their 15 years where she had tea and cake with some of the children and their families.
Joan was born in Paddington and brought up in Maida Vale but was moved around because of the Blitz.
Joan describes her house in London's Belgravia as her proper home but she also has places in LA and New York and a villa in the South of France.
The glamorous star may need those earrings back as it has been announced US TV network CW is planning a Dynasty revival - although it is not yet clear whether or not the British actress will be involved, although she has spoken many times of her desire for a new generation to experience the show .
