Lucy Atwell has a fantasy to be Cleopatra, but she soon realises that fantasies can soon become deadly reality as she becomes a pawn in a plot to overthrow the Queen, can Marc Anthony save her! She needs the help of My Fair Pharaoh...  Fred Webster wants to have special powers that will allow him to move things at will, but there is a price to The Power!

RUTH ROMAN
CAROL LYNLEY
When Joan accepted the role on "Fantasy Island", she was intrigued by the fact that the character Lucy's fantasy was to be Cleopatra. Joan of course was all set to play the legendary queen in the movie version, which of course was eventually played by Elizabeth Taylor.. But little did Joan know that the role would be an unofficial audition for the role of Alexis, as Aaron Spelling mentioned noticing Joan in the episode, thus putting her in his mind when they were trying to cast the now iconic role... "Fantasy Island" like "The Love Boat" and later "Hotel" are now TV classics and were old fashioned entertainment produced by Aaron Spelling and gave legendary stars another chance at a featured role on prime time..  The series like "The Love Boat" started life a two TV movies, before they were picked up for the now classic series.. Each week the mysterious Mr Roarke and his side-kick Tattoo welcomed visitors to the island, to live out their wildest fantasy.. Each cast list read like a roll call of familiar names from films and television.. Joan's co-star in this episode is Ron Ely who will be forever remembered as "Tarzan" from the popular 60's series.. Ron also guested on Joan's episode of "The Love Boat", although not in her segment.. Ron is now retired from acting and writes novels.. Other appearing were the great 50's character actress Ruth Roman and always reliable Carol Lynley.. Joan looks stunning in her Cleopatra garb, which she mentioned part of was worn by Claudette Colbert in the 1934 classic.. "Cleopatra" .. While other costumes came from the 60's version that Joan should have starred in..and of all things some of Cher's old outfits from Caesar's! .. Never-the-less it is an entertaining hour and it set the wheels in motion for Joan's career to hit new heights.. Who says Fantasies can't always come true!!

JOAN COLLINS as Suzy Starr
PAULINE COLLINS as Pat Lewis
BREWSTER MASON as Herbert Millette
JAMES FAULKNER as Patrick
NANCY NEVINSON as Grande Dame
Story by Tonita S. Gardner .... Screenplay by Julian Bond .. Directed by Graham Evans ...

JOAN HAS A WEIGHT ON HER MIND!
When actress Suzy Starr attracts a rich admirer, she looks forward to all she can get... While friend and co-star Pat is always a shoulder to cry on..until the day Suzy chooses a bed to die on! When a friend is in need..you will find A Girl Can't Always Have Everything!!..

This was Joan's third episode of "Tales", while not as classic as "Neck", it is one of my favourites and it is great to see the Collin's girls together!    This was the first time Joan and Pauline had worked together.. Joan recalls..

SUZY IS READY FOR HER FINAL PERFORMANCE
" It was vital for the story that the girl's had a rapport.. I did not know Pauline, though of course I had worked with her husband John Alderton in an earlier episode .."GeorgyPorgy"..I also enjoyed her in "Upstairs Downstairs".. It worked perfectly..The chemistry was right and we got on like a house on fire.."
Part of the episode was filmed in the Wimbledon Theatre..now the New Wimbledon...
Pauline commented on her role in the episode..
" Appearing with Joan was great fun.. She and I became great friends.. She is very funny, very witty and very immediate.. She plays a sophisticated girl who is out to get her man! I'm also after him but Joan wins because she has more oomph!"

PAT & SUZY GET READY FOR A SHOW!
At the time the episode was screened in November 1980, Joan was appearing with Simon Williams, (another "Upstairs Downstairs" star), in "The Last Of Mrs Cheyney" in the west end.... A fun episode, with Joan up to her wicked ways with a sting in the tail...

JOHN ALDERTON as Rev George Duckworth
LALLY BOWERS as Miss Elphinstone
MARGARETTA SCOTT as Lady Birdwell
ANN BEACH as Miss Unwin

Story by Roald Dahl  ..  Teleplay by Robin Chapman ...  Directed by Graham Evans ...

TWO FACES OF JOAN!
CLAIRE PONDERS HER NEXT MOVE!
Julia Roach has designs on the new Reverend, she soon finds out he does not practice what he preaches, when the sins of the father or mother, in his case, come back to haunt him...with Julia's life in danger when she encounters Georgy Porgy....

JULIA HAS BALL GAMES ON HER MIND!
JULIA HAS EYES FOR REV DUCKWORTH
FATHER LIKES MOTHER LIKES SON!
Joan was asked to do a second episode of  "Tales" and she plays a dual role of a sexy parishioner and a batty mother who is very unconventional.. The episode ran into trouble with the Bishop of Norwich, due to a scene where the Reverend stars hallucinating and imagines his prim and proper congregation of ladies are all naked.. The scene was set to film in a church in Norwich, but the Bishop objected to a bevy of naked women littering the church... Eventually the scene was shot in a crypt and ultimately the scene was cut down as to avoid the tv censors.. It proved to be a storm in a D Cup!! This episode was of the strange variety, with Joan playing two parts and John Alderton a deeply disturbed vicar.. But it's an interesting story and Joan is as reliable as ever in the dual role of sexy Julia and the over maternal Claire..John Alderton turns up later in Joan's career when he appeared in her BBC series "Tonight At 8:30", while Lally Bowers previously appeared in "Fallen Angels".. Joan was back for another episode of the series and will feature "A Girl Cant Always Have Everything" tomorrow....
